Yoga in the Workplace


Janice & Peter have taught yoga classes in various work spaces including IBM, BSI, Amnesty, Age Concern and CABE.


What can Yoga do for your business?


Yoga teaches techniques of deep and thorough relaxation and concentration. Practiced regularly Yoga can considerably help to relieve mental stress, improve focus and increase energy levels which in turn can reduce absenteeism and improve productivity.


The physical stretches can help to relieve aching and tight muscles caused from poor posture in front of the computer. Yoga can help to prevent and/or offer considerable relief from specific work related complaints such as back and neck pain, stiffness, headaches, low energy levels and depression and can help prevent RSI.


Meditation in the Workplace


The Light Yoga Space offers one-off introductory meditation sessions great for away days, or weekly hour long training sessions offered in 4-8 week blocks.


A regular meditation practice helps the individual to focus their mind. Taking a short time out to simply ‘be’ encourages deep-relaxation and restoration enabling greater focus and renewed vigor and energy for work tasks.


Regular meditation practice can balance the left and right side of the brain and can enhance creativity and problem-solving ability.

Workshops & Courses in the Workplace


The Light Yoga Space also offers  half day workshops and short courses to introduce the basic principles of yoga and stress management.


We use sound techniques, concentration exercises and yogic breathing and stretching programs that can be used to help employees to manage stress levels and maintain good mental and physical health.

Workshops can be held on-site or at the Light Yoga Space.


Useful Information


Yoga@work classes are either 1 hour, 11/4 hour or 11/2 hours long. They can be held on site in the workplace or at the Light Yoga Space. A regular time slot is scheduled and can be organised at a practical time of day such as just after work, lunchtime or early morning.


Classes are offered in 4-8 week blocks. Single one-off introduction sessions or workshops are also on offer.


For classes held at the workplace all that you need to provide is a space to practice in such as a conference room, and yoga mats. (For a small extra cost yoga mats can be provided).
